Pharmakon is specialised in education, development and counselling in pharmacy practice at community pharmacies and within the drug industry. Pharmakon solves a multiplicity of tasks, and supplements its own expertise and experience with external specialists. The main tasks are:

• the education of pharmaconomists
• continuing education of pharmacists and pharmaconomists in the pharmacy sector
• research and development in community pharmacy practice
• education of staff in the pharmaceutical industry
• counselling and consultative services within pharmacy practice.

Pharmakon is linked to a number of educational and research networks, eg Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE).
